Who is Octavia Plum?

Hello and welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy my stationery as much as I have enjoyed designing each one. Octavia Plum is my labour of love! I love being creative, its what drives me and I just adore beautiful vintage finds so you could say that Octavia Plum is a combination of my two uttermost passions.

My own wedding to Paul in 2008 was where it all started. I had trawled the internet for hours and was disappointed by what I had found. Most designs were very classic and I'm just not a classic kind of girl! They didn't represent the kind of wedding we were planning which was sophisticated, vintage and relaxed. So I decided to design my own stationery and that is where it all began.

As a bit of background info, I received my BA Hons in graphic design from Bath Spa University College with a major in print making in 2001. I've 11 years experience as a professional illustrator and designer working for various high profile London publishers, as well as selling gift card designs to the likes of John Lewis. I am very lucky to have had my work featured in various publications including You&Your Wedding, Wedding Magazine and BBC Homes & Antiques to name a few, and recently have become a partner on notonthehighstreet.

I love to collect vintage postcards and wallpapers, and gather my inspiration from there. The romance of the by-gone era and the beautiful, tactile quality of the illustrations and prints is something I try to include in my designs. I find that the old ones are just so romantic and true romance is what weddings are all about! I like to think of it as breathing life into something old and perhaps forgotten. Something old turned into something new and something borrowed from the past to create an Octavia Plum design. This character and charm is something I strive to reflect within each wedding stationery range.
